Apps to help Wellbeing!

As someone who experiences multiple mental health conditions on a daily basis I feel I am experienced enough to fill you in on all the apps that I have found useful when coping with my illnesses. I am not sponsored by any of these companies, I just want to share what works for me.

1. Calm.

This app is a meditation app that plays multiple sound tracks to help you remain clear headed and in control of your thoughts. There are functions that help with sleep, including 'bedtime stories'. Meditation tracks are sorted into what they help you with, eg. Anxiety, Stress, Self-Care, Focus and Relationships. There is also a section of the app called 'Calm Kids'.

2. Tide.

This app has to be one of my favourites as it provides timed sound tracks that you can use to study, sleep, focus or unwind. I typically use a 15 minute timer when I'm feeling a bit off or just anxious. This way I let myself focus on one task straight for 15 mins while the track is playing and once I'm done I have a break before starting again. Guided breathing tracks with smaller time frames are also available on this app to make relaxation or focus quicker than ever!

3. Beyond Blue.

This app provides you with a personalised safety plan that you can access on the go. This is great for those dealing with self harm urges and thoughts of suicide. You can edit your safety plan at anytime so that it grows with you. Simply enter the prompt questions with as many answers as you want (I tend to use 3-4 per question) and visit the plan when your urges begin to minimise harm.

4. Whats up?

Along with Tide, this app is one of my favourites! When you open the app you have a menu of options including, 'Help right now', 'Coping strategies', 'Information' and 'Personal'. Simply tap what you need and you are treated with even more options, this way no matter what you will find something helpful in any situation. Breathing, Forums, Quotes, Diary, Habit trackers, Thinking patterns and Information about mental illnesses, you are sure to fine something that suits you.

5. 3minute Mindfulness.

This is a pretty simple app that allows you to listen to various sounds that will keep you present and aware. You can set daily reminders to use the app and remind youth take a step back. There is also an email service available with tips on how to be more mindful that get sent straight to your inbox. You can make in app purchases to add more tracks to your homepage to increase your experience.

So that is all, I hope this was helpful and you find something useful.
